The BLK protein is a key non-receptor tyrosine kinase that is essential for B lymphocyte development and signal transduction. It regulates pro-B to pre-B transition, growth arrest, and apoptosis downstream of B cell receptors by binding and phosphorylating CD79A and CD79B.
