EXOSC2 is a non-catalytic RNA exosome complex component that plays an important role in 3'->5' exoribonuclease activity and affects a variety of cellular RNA processing and degradation processes. In the nucleus, it helps stabilize the maturation of RNA species and eliminates processing by-products, non-coding transcripts and defective mRNAs.
