EXOSC5 is a non-catalytic RNA exosome complex component that is critical in 3'->5' exoribonuclease activity and affects a variety of cellular RNA processing and degradation processes. In the nucleus, it contributes to stable RNA maturation, byproduct elimination, and noncoding transcript degradation.
