The FGFBP2 protein is secreted by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and binds reversibly to acidic and basic fibroblast growth factors. It also binds to the basement membrane glycans. FGFBP2 is highly expressed in human malignant cells and normal tissues and is a potential prognostic biomarker for tumors.
