ING4 protein is a component of the HBO1 complex and mediates acetylation of histone H3 at “Lys-14” while reducing the activity of histone H4. ING4 suppresses tumor progression by modulating signaling pathways, inhibiting brain tumor angiogenesis, and specifically inhibiting loss of contact inhibition of oncogenes such as MYC.
