OSM protein is a multifunctional growth regulator with dual functions of inhibiting tumor cell lines and stimulating the proliferation of AIDS-KS cells. It coordinates the production of cytokines, including IL-6, G-CSF, and GM-CSF, and binds to type I and type II OSM receptors, forming heterodimers with LIFR/IL6ST and OSMR/IL6ST, respectively.
