PSCA protein is a multifunctional regulator that may modulate cell proliferation and act as a modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) activity. In vitro experiments showed that it can inhibit nicotine-induced signaling, suggesting interaction with nAChR containing α-3:β-2 or α-7.
