Poly (hexamethylenebiguanide) hydrochloride (PHMB) is an antimicrobial and antiviral agent. Poly (hexamethylenebiguanide) hydrochloride is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Poly (hexamethylenebiguanide) hydrochloride works by adsorbing to the surface of cellulose, which can damage microbial cell membranes and interfere with metabolism.
